I am chatting with Keith Birthday right now.

I am chatting with Keith. Keith is in Siberia.

This is the view out of Keith’s window in Siberia.
I know Keith from Philadelphia. We met and played in each other’s bands, and now we are far away from Philadelphia. Keith was and is always much better at getting mad action from the ladies than me. Keith wrote a very good song, it was called “Jitterbug“, over which I laid what I thought was this Latin folk strumming pattern like in Person Pitch. But I hadn’t listened to that record yet.
I think it’s very nice that we can video chat now that he’s in Russia. Keith teaches English at the Polytechnic University of Tomsk. He told me about his new habit of going to bathhouses.
Wouldn’t you want to see a naked Russian guy in a silly hat beating himself with a
birch branch?
And this Czech kid that, thanks to his loose grasp of English grammar and vocabulary, uses “textile” as a catchall word.
This is a picture of Keith with vodka.

Apparently it’s good etiquette to bring something for the host of a party—this way, you don’t have to buy alcohol if you have a party because your guests will bring it to you.
This is Keith holding a Russian 40 (empty). It’s unpasteurized so you have to drink it immediately.
Like open strumming patterns and chords variations moms love.
We talked about this kid he knew that he taught some parlor tricks and went on to start a band, changing the name at least four times. We traded demos. He said that mine sounded like Guided By Voices via Jens Lekman, and I said that his choice to record through internal mic to photobooth and them play back through his internal speakers into internal mic made his song sound even more like Animal Collective. His house is sad. He had/has a kitty.
We talked about “Walkabout”, and looked up the source song. It sounded sweet.
Keith had to go to watch Donnie Darko. He’s started an English language movie club, and he’s having people watch it for the club. I told him that he’s going to launch a thousand Russian alts. But before he left, he showed me a site he found about the Dovers that was written all in comic sans and has a funny picture of them on it.

Weird. Need to check Keith’s tumblr more often.
